Prayer in LUK
11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a
certain
place,
when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples. 2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our
Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. |

The Lord's Model Prayer
"Our
Father", is prayer for thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done in earth, as it is
in heaven. God's will is clear, His
name is Holy, to be hallowed in
His
Creation, His Kingdom come,
as
fulfillment of His Will,
and we receive the kingdom by faith, when we receive the King Jesus
Christ into our heart (the earth) as Saviour and Lord, trusting
Him alone, we are forgiven, healed or made whole, we are His, new
creation, born again. |

This prayer in the Gospel of Matthew and Luke is a prayer for the Kingdom of God, whereas the prayers in the Gospel of John (... pray in My name) are for eternal life and living by that eternal life. Matthew emphasizes the need to pray for the Kingdom come, but John is praying in the name of Jesus for eternal Life. Lord,
teach us to pray...

| Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. |
4. "Thy will be done
in
earth,
as [it is] in heaven." Gen
1:26-28
- God created man to have dominion over the "whole earth". This is
why
the Lord taught us to pray "Thy
will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. ".
Gal 5:16,18 - "walk by the Spirit", "led by the Spirit" -
we know the will of God by the Spirit. Acts 13:2 - "The Holy Spirit
said ..." Acts 16:6,7 - "forbidden by the Holy Spirit",
"Spirit
of Jesus did not permit them"
5. "11 Give us this day our daily bread." Phil 4:6 "Don't be anxious, but take everything to God in prayer" John 6 - Jesus presents Himself as "I am the bread of life"
6. "12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." When we hold a spirit of unforgiveness toward others, this holds God back in our life.
7. "13 And lead us not into temptation," We need to pray this because even disciples had problems and failures.
8. "but deliver us from evil:" - we all need this prayer.
Final praise (omitted in Luke)
"For
thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.".
This prayer is a prayer of Resolution in Vitrue Spiritual Warfare (see Ephesians 6:10-18).

Create
in me a clean heart, O God... ![]() You cannot atone for your sins; you cannot change your heart & make yourself holy. But God promises to do all this for you through Christ. "I can do all things through Chist who strenghtens me" You believe His Promise, you confess your sins and give yourself to God. You will to serve Him. Just as surely as you do this, God will fulfill His word to you. If you believe His promise,... believe that you are forgiven and cleansed,... God supplies the fact; you are made whole, It is so if you only believe it. Do not wait to feel that you are made whole, but say: “I believe it; it is so, not because I feel it, but because God has promised.” |

Rise up, rise up, rescue souls.
The end is near.
Rise up, rise up, rescue souls.

(el shad-di') All-Sufficient One, Lord God
Almighty, El Shaddai
Use in the Bible: In the Old
Testament El Shaddai occurs 7 times.
El Shaddai is first used in Gen 17:1. Variant spellings: None TWOT Reference: 2333 Strong's Reference: 7706 El Shaddai in the Septuagint: theou saddai — God Shaddai; pantokratôr (for Shaddai) — the Almighty Meaning and Derivation: El is another name that is translated as "God" and can be used in conjunction with other words to designate various aspects of God's character. Another word much like Shaddai, and from which many believe it derived, is shad meaning "breast" in Hebrew (some other scholars believe that the name is derived from an Akkadian word Šadu, meaning "mountain," suggesting strength and power). This refers to God completely nourishing, satisfying, and supplying His people with all their needs as a mother would her child. Connected with the word for God, El, this denotes a God who freely gives nourishment and blessing, He is our sustainer. Further references of the name El Shaddai in the Old Testament : Gen 17:1; Gen 28:3; Gen 35:11; Gen 43:14; Gen 48:3 |
